About the school
JCLI Language School was established in 1980 and opened a separate campus near the head office in 2014. It currently has 2 schools, Shinjuku and Okubo, and is a large-size school with almost 1000 students. A large building floor over 800m2 in size is lined with clean classrooms and lounge areas take up a fair amount of space, and students can learn Japanese in a homelike environment. Located in the student tow n of Takadanobaba where many Japanese and foreign university and college students gather, and in Shin-okubo where you can enjoy cuisine from many countries, there are many things you can enjoy aside from learning Japanese.
School’s Advantages
Weekly consultations are held for elective courses in ‘post-graduate’, ‘national, and prestigious private universities’, ‘private general universities’ and ‘professional schools’ preparation, the students’ designated teachers providing thorough specialized instruction in progressing to further study. Apart from the weekly consultations, individual guidance is constantly offered by counseling staff from the educational affairs department.
The main on-campus seminars are held on twice yearly, divided by academic field (sociology, international studies, economics, tourism, CG etc.) in May-June and by school in July-August, providing students with ample information about schools. Aside from this, seminars are also constantly held where entrance exam staff from each school come to talk to students directly about their schools’ characteristics, exam content, exam preparation, employability and more.
Consultation weeks are held 3 times per term to match certain academic advancement pathways, actively supporting students so they can each progress to the route suitable for them.
